I Am Not I - Juan RAMON Jiménez
This poem was written in the Modernismo movement, which emerged in the late 1880s. It was the Latin American poetry and Spanish language movement, which was most often associated with the Nicaraguan poet Rubén Darío, who was a central poet. other poets include Juan Ramon Jimenez, and José Martí.
This poem is one of the toughest poems to analyze that i chose, despite the fact that it uses pretty straight forward language, and is also the shortest. I believe, that the fact that this was a short poem left out the details, and made the message of the poet more vague. However, i believe that he is talking about his spirit in this poem. the lines "who walks where i am not, who will remain standing when I die." which relates to the statement "Although i die, my spirit lives on", which depicts the liberal-type vibe given off in most of the poems of the era.

"I am not I
I am this one
walking beside me whom I do not see" - Paradox. The reason i believe that this is a paradox is because the two things cancel each other out, because it is impossible for you to not see a person, and also be aware of their presence.
